My Fathers Final Journey

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

My name is Azalia, and it is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you today. I am heartbroken by the recent loss of my wonderful father, Donald Anthony Stoddart, who passed away on August 15, 2024, after a courageous battle with Stage Four Prostate Cancer. He was just 53 years old and had been a resident of the Czech Republic for 17 years.

My father’s journey began with what we thought were minor issues. On June 7, 2024, after experiencing pain in his legs—something he attributed to his training and workouts—he was diagnosed with cancer following a fainting episode at work. Despite the challenges he faced, my dad remained a true warrior, enduring his illness with remarkable strength and grace, even without adequate pain relief.

I had the privilege of being by his side in Prague during his final moments, along with my eldest son, whom my dad adored deeply. His passing leaves behind not only his only child, but also his beloved grandchildren, aged 11 and 3, along with his beautiful mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family who cherished him dearly.

In the wake of my father’s passing, I was faced with overwhelming responsibilities. Within an hour of his death, I had to go to the hospital to sign documentation. Due to his inability to work, my father’s insurance had expired, and I was confronted with immediate demands for payment of medical costs. Navigating the legal differences in the Czech Republic has been challenging, and the timeline for arranging a funeral is swift.

My deepest wish is to bring my father’s body home so that my family and I can say our final goodbyes and allow his soul to rest in peace. To do this, I need to raise £10,000 to alleviate some of the financial strain this situation has placed upon me. I am committed to ensuring that he receives the send-off he deserves.

I understand that many are facing their own challenges in the current cost of living crisis, and any contribution, no matter how small, would be immensely appreciated. Your generosity would mean the world to me during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support, love, and blessings are deeply appreciated.

With love and gratitude,
Azalia
