Butler-Garrick Family Tragic House Fire

Hi, this is Shaunkota Butler! My parents Pauline Butler and Nelson J. Garrick Jr. is having a fundraiser and requesting assistance because our family home was destroyed in a fire and we lost everything. Basically everyone was asleep and my niece was awaken by the smell of smoke from coming dryer. She informed my dad and once he opened the dryer, smoke came out. My niece took her son and my daughter out the house as quickly as possible after waking my mom. When she returned flames exploded from the roof. The fire department came out and tried to access the fire. They informed us the fire originated from the attic due to wiring or electrical problems that traveled throughout the walls. It is through God's grace that everyone made it. Unfortunately due to the change of the financial climate of Covid and the increase of everything, we weren't able to afford insurance. Regretfully, we're now left in devastation and we are heartbroken. This was the home where my grandfather, mother, and all siblings were raised. Today, we realized our legacy may not be past on to our children and the next generations of grandkids and great-grandkids.

To be waken in the early morning to smoke and rushing to make sure everyone is out only to see your house that has been there for many generations blow up in flames is very devastating. Its going to take some time but eventually one day at a time with the help of the good Lord and the prayers from everyone we will make it through.. We are seeking to rebuild what once stood as our familys legacy.. I wanna thank each and everyone of you in advance for all that you have done or is going to do.
