Children's Christmas Cheer campaign

I have been an educator in the local community for 15 years and this year has been an especially tragic and difficult one for many local families, mine included. This campaign is designed to support 17 children between the ages of 1 and 18 who have lost a parent or sibling in recent months to suicide or illness.

Christmas is a time of hope of generosity and a chance to show compassion and community spirit. I hope to raise enough money to be able to give these children a memorable Christmas that reminds them of the many good people in their community who truly care.

The funds raised will be used to cover Christmas presents for the children- including clothing, toiletries, school supplies etc The families willreceive food, drink and decoration hampers to assist with Christmas provisions and a community Christmas event will be held for the children that features games, food and a surprise visit from Santa. Petrol vouchers or bus tickets toassist family to be together at Christmas will also be provided if possible.

As a sign of appreciation for any donations over $30 I would like to offer you a hand made craft made by some of my students who were keen to help as a small thank you gift. All you need to do is send an email via gofundme or an inbox to Connecting with Country with your postal address. 

I can’t undo the loss and grief these families are feeling but I’d like to try and give these kids a much needed break and help their parents to give them a special Christmas celebration and be prepared for the next school year in terms of clothing and equipment.

Every single donation will be gratefully accepted and expenditure records and receipts will be kept to provide accountability to those kind donors of the campaign.
