Help for Katy

I am in shock and disbelief to be writing this right now.  Unfortunately our family was struck with some devastating news and I am reaching out to ask for help.  My sister, Katy Sherwood, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer last week.  Katy is a wife, a mother of 3, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.  She has a 13 year old son, Jase, an 11 year old daughter, Abby, and a 6 month old son, Carter. She is a special education paraprofessional for the Special Ed department of Region 1, and spends her days working at North Canaan Elementary School.  Saying this diagnosis took us all by surprise is a severe understatement, but we are all ready to fight like hell right along side of her. While fighting this with radiation and chemotherapy, Katy is going to understandably need some time off of work.  She hates asking for help, like most people do, so I am asking for her.  I am pleading for help from all of you so that she doesn’t have to worry about helping to support her family financially while also using all of her energy to fight this.  Katy is a fighter and there is not a doubt in our minds that she is going to kick cancer’s ass.  Thank you in advance to all of you who are pitching in to help along with her fight.
