Help me save my mom from Kidney failure
Donation protected
It’s always the strongest people who don’t ask for help - so others have to ask for them. My mother is one of the most resilient and strongest human beings I have ever known. She has battled with Kidney disease for 13 years without reaching out for support. When Mia Bella was born 9 years ago, she decided she was going to fight to live and see her grow. Being part of her grandaughter’s life has kept my mom’s spirit strong.
Unfortunately, now that her Kidney’s are only working at 4%, the battle is lot more frightening and she is physically very weak, as she is unable to hold food down or sleep a full night. Every day is a miracle to see her walking; our hope is to have enough days for her two potential donors to go through the process of compatibility testing and to pray for a successful transplant.
Our family is doing the best we can to help her, but we cannot afford all the expenses of the next steps to fight to keep her alive. Although she had insurance in the past, the coverage was not enough to justify the monthly expenses with her condition. With out any coverage now, and her donors being in Colombia, we are praying she has strength to travel there on Sunday.
A transplant here is $100,000 vs $25,000 there. The necessary testing and treatment she will need urgently to extend her life compares closely to those price ratios. Our most urgent needs are to get my mom there to receive dialysis treatment ($1,700 per dialysis in Colombia vs $10K in USA) and to be with caregivers that can be by her side 24/7.
Thank you you for taking the time to read this. I pray my daughter can enjoy her abuelita, and for me to have my mami. Any donation helps. Even if you can't donate, a simple share of this could help even more.
