Austin’s Recovery
Donation protected
On August 15th at 8:30pm our 15 year old son, Austin Broadwater, was a victim of a hit and run on Walston Switch Rd while he was heading home on his skateboard. He’s currently at Shock Trauma in Baltimore where he has begun the very slow process of healing.
Right now he has sustained a brain bleed that they are monitoring to prevent swelling and further complications, bruise kidney, chin laceration, a fractured scapula (shoulder blade), fractured pelvis that will need surgery once the issues with his brain are under control, and road rash on his knees, arms, hands, torso, back, side of his head and his face.
Austin is an amazing kid. Incredibly active in football and track. A dedicated member of his Boy Scout Troop. He never hesitates to help anyone in need. His adventurous spirit has kept our lives interesting from day 1. Not having his sense of humor with us during this time has left our family empty.
