Help Lay Scott To Rest
Donation protected
On February 3, 2024 our dear friend Kim Merryman (Choctaw) learned her beloved brother, Scott, had passed away. She immediately made the 10+ hour drive to claim his body and put him to rest. This is where you come in. We at Four Mothers Collective are asking for your donations to allow Kim to cremate her brother with dignity. Her unfailing support of the Indigenous community deserves support in return. Any amount is GREATLY appreciated. Here are some words from Kim about Scott:
Scott was extra! every!single!thing!
Always.
We found he had congenital adrenal hyperplasia when he was five. It was rare and the treatment was hard and it changed his life.
He was not expected to live past 50. He was about to be 51. My brother left in an ambulance from his home and he died at the hospital.
He was laughing and happy on the phone earlier that day with his friend.
He was extra.
He suffered, really suffered with lots of pain. He had multiple back surgeries. The meds took his spark from him and still left the pain.
He was a genius, literally. But he walked a fine line with that genius and his mental illness.
We talked every week.
He would make me talk on the phone.
He had hope.
And a dog named Russell.
And a head full of mysteries…
He was my baby brother.
He was extra.
He would start every conversation with: Hey Sister…
I will miss him forever.
Blue green eyes
And dimples.
He has been sitting in the morgue for 9 days. He was alone. He died alone. He was a good and kind man. He loved with his heart and soul. Rest In Peace, James Scott Anderson
