Support for Dawn Wilson

The diagnosis is as unsettling today as it was when Dawn heard it in early November: glioblastoma, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer and the same tumor that took her mother’s life. Dawn had successful surgery in November and is thankful for excellent results, while acknowledging the surgery helps but is not curative.

Dawn Wilson’s life, as you can imagine, is forever refocused. In addition to dealing with the tumor and diagnosis, she faces the immediate inability to continue working, expenses adding up, and medical insurance tied to employment that needs to be replaced via COBRA and the Marketplace.

Dawn is grateful for the many messages of care, support, and prayers received from family and friends as well as past and present coworkers, former students, and classmates near and far that have reached out.

Additionally, many people have asked how they can help. To that end, we have created this GoFundMe campaign for Dawn. All donations received will go directly to Dawn to replace her salary, provide insurance coverage, and meet some of her bills.

The tumor has been removed and Dawn will continue her medical journey with intensive radiation, chemotherapy, and the hope of extending her life as long as possible, focusing on family and friends. Your generosity will ease financial stress while Dawn undergoes treatment, and your compassion will help Dawn extend the time she can spend with us all.
