Q’s Cancer medical bills
Donation protected
My name is Quentin and, as many of you know, I hate asking for help. I try my hardest to pay everything and do everything on my own. But the time is here, that I must ask…
On Friday, June 5, 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 1 testicular cancer after going in for some issues I noticed. On Monday, June 8, 2020, I was taken back to surgery to remove my left testicle. It seemed like an eternity before the lab results came back. Luckily, they got it all and I didn’t have to do treatments. And I’m still cancer free as of my last visit. However, per the recommended guidelines, I still had to be seen every three months. This involved, bloodwork, CAT scans, and x-rays, to be sure it has not returned or spread.
I have accumulated over $6000 in medical bills as a result. I have tried grants, non-profit organizations, loans, and just plain hard work to try to pay these. Every option says I either make too much or not enough to help. Unfortunately, they have become just too much. I was fortunate enough to have some of the medical bills paid for by Dak Prescott’s Faith, Fight, Finish Foundation, but they were not able to cover it all. My insurance has helped some but visits are over $200/ visit. Scans are over $500/visit.
I have squeezed every bit I can to try to cover these costs. As many of you know, I see myself as a hard worker and feel guilty to even ask for help. I’m to the point of not knowing what else to do.
Any help would be very much appreciated beyond what can be explained.
