Surgery for Dahlia
Donation protected
In June 2022 our cat Dahlia needed dental surgery. The cost was $1800. Luckily, my partner and I have CareCredit and the full amount was able to be charged. We’ve been slowly making payments toward the debt ever since. We have since had other charges onto the credit card for vaccinations and checkups with blood work, and along with interest rates, our current balance is over $3000.
Unfortunately, we recently learned that she needs another dental procedure under anesthesia, with X-rays and at least one extraction. She has a bad tooth that’s causing issues and needs to come out, and we need to make sure no others are in the same condition.
We’ve been quoted an estimate of $2500 for the second procedure. We have enough remaining credit with CareCredit to cover this surgery, but minimum monthly payments are based on a percentage of the balance and, despite our best efforts, it’s going to become very difficult to continue to meet them. The interest rate makes it almost impossible to ever pay off the entire amount of making minimum payments.
We’ll be able to get Dahlia’s surgery done. It’s a necessity at this point because it’s become apparent that she’s experiencing discomfort that could become pain. We are asking for help to pay for the surgery, and hopefully to make some progress towards resolving the existing debt.
Dahlia is nearly sixteen and in great shape. She has chronic kidney disease which is stable, managed with prescription food which is also a higher expense but one we’re happy to pay to ensure her well-being. We’ve had her since she was a baby and she is always a priority in the family, and we are incredibly grateful to anyone who is able to help with any amount. Thank you for reading, sharing, and for any donation.
