Our front line health care workers are working hard around the clock to save lives and fight the global COVID19 Pandemic. Unfortunately, many of them are ill-equipped to adequately protect themselves from the virus due to extensive nationwide PPE shortage.
At Additive Engineering Solutions, we have decided to step in and help. Our small shop in Akron, OH is equipped to manufacture a large number of shields, and do so quickly.
We have modified the popular Budmen design and made it suitable for mass CNC production. The shield consists of a reusable and cleanable head piece and replaceable polycarbonate shield.
While normally we are a 3D printing first company, we have elected to CNC machine our Brims. There are a few reasons for this. First, it is faster. We are able to machine shield components in minutes instead of hours. Second, we are able to make the shield out of medical grade HDPE plastic. While this may cost a bit more, it allows us to provide health care workers with a quality product that is easy to sanitize and keep clean.
100% of the funds will be used to cover the material and labor required to manufacture the shields. We have all the equipment and fixtures ready and material available. Currently, we have enough to produce 8,000 shields and with your help, we can produce even more.
The need is urgent. Help us get these shields produced and distributed to our health care system.
If you follow-up your donation of $15 or more with an email to [email redacted], we will ship shields to any location/region of your choice within the lower 48 states.
If we don't receive a specific request for donation location, we will distribute shields based on current need as the production is accomplished.
