Kevin Strong

On Saturday, September 15th, 2018 Kevin Kelsey was involved in a freak accident. While on a bicycle trip with a friend, Kevin's front wheel clipped the back wheel of his friend's tire. He slammed into the concrete at approximately 20 miles an hour head first. He was rushed to Mission Hospital in Ashville, NC.  Even though Kevin was wearing his helmet his skull was shattered in 9 places and he underwent emergency surgery to remove the right side of his skull and evacuate a hematoma. However, Kevin's cranial pressure would not subside. Around 3 am Sunday morning Kevin underwent his second emergency surgery. The doctor's last-resort was to remove the left side of Kevin's skull and release the pressure. Anther hematoma was removed from the left side as well. The pressure went down. Since then Kevin has made very slow but positive steps toward recovery.  

Kevin's fate and recovery plans are unclear. However, rehabilitation will be a long and arduous process. More than anything, prayers for healing are needed and we ask that you remember Kevin when you can. 

Unfortunately, Kevin's burdens will now be much more than just healing. Kevin's financial responsibilities are increasing every day. The cost of hospitalization, medical procedures, prescriptions, brain injury rehabilitation, and the everyday bills that will pile up while he is out of work, will continue to grow. This fundraiser is intended to allow Kevin to focus on his rehabilitation and let all of us take some of the financial burdens off his shoulders.
