Maui Wildfires

Hi everyone, my name is Kaylie. On August 8th the Maui wildfires broke out. My two sisters and sister's fiance live in Lahaina where the fires started. My sister and her fiance were able to get their dog and escape. My little sister was woken up by the smell of smoke and when she went outside, houses were fully engulfed in fire forcing her to leave with the clothes on her back and no shoes. They initially drove her car to escape but soon had to leave it because there was no way out leaving my sister's car to burn. They ran barefoot through backyards and streets to escape when they made it to the bypass with winds blowing 80mph. They were then able to catch a ride on the back of a stranger's dirtbike up to the top of the hillside. They then hiked to find my sister and her fiance which took them 9 hours total to reach them. My sister's business burned completely down and lost everything. They don't have any belongings right now and they are trying to move forward with the community. I'm trying to raise some money for them so they can start repairing their lives and help their friends that lost everything as well. The Maui fire is a tragic event that has caused devastation in Lahaina. Thanks for reading and sharing this, anything helps!
