Help Bethany Heal: Support Her Medical Journey

Donation protected
Hi All,

My name is Danielle Chambers, and I am reaching out with an urgent plea to help my cousin’s incredible wife, Bethany, who is in dire need of our support.

Bethany has dedicated her life to serving others. As a Queensland Police Officer since 2008, she has always embodied bravery and commitment. But since 2012, her life has been consumed by unimaginable medical struggles—struggles that she continues to battle with unwavering strength and resilience.

A Life Changed in an Instant
After the birth of her beautiful daughter, Calista, in August 2012 via emergency C-section, Bethany’s health took a devastating turn. What should have been a joyous new chapter quickly spiraled into years of chronic pain, failed surgeries, and medical complications that have left her fighting every single day.

It started with her first hernia repair in November 2012, followed by multiple surgeries, nerve entrapment treatments, and infections. The complications only worsened, leading to spinal stimulators, nerve blocks, and multiple abdominal repairs and even death—none of which have brought the relief she desperately needs.
Despite her pain, Bethany has fought to stay strong for her daughter. Calista has never known a life where her mother isn’t in pain. She has never seen her mum in uniform, serving the community she loves. Instead, she has watched Bethany battle just to make it through each day.

Forced to Leave Her Career, Struggling to Survive
By 2018, Bethany’s condition had deteriorated to the point where she was medically retired from the police service. She now relies on a cane and often a wheelchair. The financial impact of losing her career has been devastating.

To make matters worse, Bethany has faced heartbreaking medical neglect—including a traumatic incident where she was wrongly blamed for an overdose and discharged from the hospital at 3 AM, forced to take an Uber home alone.

Bethany and Scotty are soul mates joined by a passion to serve others, they met as volunteers through the SES, having volunteered now for over 35 years combined. They are the couple we all hope to be, loved up 14 years on despite daily obstacles.

Her husband, Scotty, works overtime just to cover mounting medical bills, but the costs are overwhelming. The medications, ongoing treatments, and legal battles to address the medical negligence she has faced are financially crushing their family.
How You Can Help

Bethany has given so much to her community, even founding Merry Go Round Toys, a social enterprise dedicated to giving back—earning numerous awards and recognition for her commitment to helping others.
We are asking for your support to help cover:
Urgent medical expenses and post-surgery nursing care
Legal fees to fight for medical justice
Essential medications and ongoing treatments
Financial relief for Bethany and her family

Every single donation—big or small—makes a difference. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser to help us reach more people.

Let’s Show Bethany She’s Not Alone
Bethany has spent over a decade fighting, but she shouldn’t have to fight alone. Let’s rally together and show her the love, support, and community she has always given to others.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for standing with Bethany in her time of need.

With gratitude,
Danielle Chambers & Family
