As you may know my Sister-in-law Angie was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer known as Metaplastic Spindle cell carcinoma at the age of 39. She has undergone extensive treatments including surgery, weekly chemotherapy, daily radiation appointments and immunotherapy. Even with all the treatments she has undergone, this aggressive form of cancer has metastasized.
Despite this hardship, she has not let this diagnosis define her. She is the loving wife of Shawn and is a wonderful mother to two beautiful daughters (ages 4 and 1).
On top of taking care of her family life at home she has also continued to work. Her company has been great with letting her work from home and allowing the time needed to recover from invasive surgery and all the treatments that followed. However, the appointments and treatments are starting to increase and interfere with her ability to work and her doctor has recommended her to stop working.
While it is difficult to ask for help, with accumulating medical bills and all the expenses that coincide with appointments in Boston and out of state, along with the recommendation that Angie will need to stop working in the near future, I wanted to organize a way to help Angie and her family during this difficult time of need and alleviate some of the financial burden so she can focus on her treatment and family. Any bit of help is greatly appreciated and if you are unable to personally contribute, please consider sharing her story.
