Missions in the Philippines
Donation protected
Earlier this year, the opportunity to go on mission to the Philippines this October opened up, and right away, Chelsea and I were drawn to it, especially since her Dad and family are from the Philippines. We started attending the trainings and learned how the missions team will come alongside the long-term missions team there (YWAM) and equip the local churches, serve those experiencing food and housing insecurity, and share the hope of the gospel, especially with youth. In the past 9 months, there has been a surge of openness to the gospel from kids and students aged 5-25, and the local churches and organizations have come together to learn ways they can better serve them. The long-term team explained how there is more need than there are people to help, and how short-term missions multiply their efforts and can equip the churches in their specific giftings.
As we were applying and going through the training in faith that God would provide resource, Chelsea received a donation which funded most of her trip. She was in tears, and we were totally shocked and grateful. At that point, the trip became very real.
We’re coming up to the August 3rd deadline and we’re hoping I can join her and the missions team. I hope to learn the needs of the local worship teams and equip them with the tools and training that have helped me through the years.
If you feel prompted to give, I just want to thank you. I’m excited for the opportunity to become part of what God is doing in the Philippines!
Thank you again!
