Support for Lauren's recovery
Donation protected
On October 2nd, 2015 Lauren was involved in a fall, resulting in severe head trauma. She was knocked unconscious and was immediately rushed to Memorial Central ER by ambulance in Colorado Springs, CO.
After a CT scan, Lauren was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), a laceration to the back of her head, a temporal hematoma on the left and right side, as well as severe swelling throughout.
She was admitted into the ICU where she stayed for a week before being transferred to a rehab portion of the hospital where she was able to make tremendous progress! Her doctors and therapists were blown away by the milestones she passed in such a short amount of time.
However, on November 4th Lauren was admitted back into the ER when her brain began to swell again! After an MRI, a clearer result came back and the damage was much more severe than they thought initially.
It is imperative that Lauren be admitted into an inpatient rehab facility where she can receive daily therapy and relearn how to take care of herself and daily activities so she can return to a full quality of life that is pain free and as close to normal as possible.
Lauren is not allowed to work, drive, and essentially have the independence that she is used to. Please, please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. She is so determined to come out of this and return to her normal quality of life and live it to the degree she did before!
Just, one day at a time, one foot in front of the other! All donations will go directly to Lauren to help with her accumulating medical bills. Any little bit will help and is so appreciated. Her recovery will be a long process but with the support of her friends and family she will be ensured the best possible outcome!
