Kelly Brooks- Quadriplegic medical expenses
Donation protected
I am David Brooks, my wife Leah and family are seeking financial support for our 45 year old daughter who is fighting for her Life.
Kelly was shot and left for dead around 11pm on her birthday, December 12th.
She's currently in a hospital in Chattanooga struggling to function again. She's in a quadriplegic condition and we're in the process of moving her to the Shepard spine center in Atlanta on Thursday January 11th.
It typically costs over a million dollars to care for a quadriplegic for the first year. All of the money raised will be spent on Kelly's care. We will need to buy an electric wheelchair, accessibility, facility costs and other general medical expenses that go along with it.
Kelly was shot twice in the neck (near a place she had surgery from a car accident, over a decade ago). She was also shot 3 other times, one shattered her femur bone which is healing nicely.
The miracle is, the 9mm bullets missed severing her spinal cord! So, she has a fighting chance at breathing again. A week later they did emergency surgery to stabilize her neck and to open up an area for the spinal cord to heal. She's very, slowly, getting better.
Kelly has a BS from JSU, a PHD in Kinesiology from the University of Alabama and teaches remotely for Liberty University.
Kelly won the Alabama High School State 2 Mile Championship in 1997. Kelly was still an avid runner with a strong heart and disposition most folks do not possess. All who know her, know she's a fighter and a winner!
Kelly has two daughters, a 7 year old, and a 20 year old.
Kelly is 100% mentally functional. Her ardent desire is to be able to be a somewhat functional mother for them.
We feel the fact that she wants to be a mom, more than life itself, makes her the strongest candidate to recover miraculously!
Kelly has founded a no kill dog shelter in Texas, and her hobbies are her dogs, gardening, hiking in nature geology, and her passion is her motherhood.
Kelly is known, by all her friends and family, for her tender heartedness, and indomitable will power. Thank you and God Bless. ❤️
