Quail Creek Sign Rebuild
Donation protected
As a resident of Quail Creek, you are likely familiar with the pile of bricks that was once a sign welcoming people into our neighborhood. That sign was hit by a drunk driver years ago, and has since been neglected and left in disrepair. It is time to take pride in our beautiful neighborhood and rebuild the entrance so homeowners and our guests feel welcomed.
A group of homeowners have taken the initial step to rebuild the sign, but we need many more residents of Quail Creek to step up and join this effort for this project to ever become a reality. The group has decided to move forward with a new rock sign to replace the old brick and wood sign. This sign will be about the same size and in the same location as the old sign, however, it will be stone with “Quail Creek” etched into both sides. This sign will handle weather well and serve as a stately landmark for our neighborhood entrance for many years to come. This will not only improve the aesthetics of the neighborhood entrance, but it will also improve the property value of all houses. We hope you will join us in donating to this project and rebuilding the entrance of our respectable neighborhood. It is time we take pride in and invest in our neighborhood.
The entire project will cost around $5,500. This will include the new rock, engraved and installed, and the demolition and removal of the base of the old sign. This may seem like a daunting figure, but if we are able to come together as a group this amount will be raised in no time. Think about it this way: there are just over 100 houses in this neighborhood (including Dorchester, John Wayne, Quail Creek, and Prince William), and if we have 100% participation, this would be $50/house. We have attempted this before and have not had high participation, so if you are serious about the aesthetics that will complement our respectable neighborhood, we encourage a higher donation.
This is an example of a finished stone from the construction company. Note: Our sign will be longer and have "Quail Creek" etched and painted into it. The final design is tentative. When sufficient funds are raised, we will have another neighborhood meeting to vote on a design.
Current remains of the old Quail Creek sign and proposed sight of where the new rock sign would be placed.
