Queen Barbara's diabetes debacle.
Donation protected
UPDATE 2: Barbara took a turn. Her diabetes is back and her body is still not fighting off her infection. She was hospitalized and released requiring more medication and restarting her insulin injections. This was another $1018 (with pet insurance) and $82 for insulin. I am drowning. I received a call from the vet yesterday and he is unable to provide any concrete answers about her condition and why she isn't getting better. He says she may require another hospitalization and more tests. I am at a loss. My accounts are completely drained. I truly don't expect more help than what has already been received (which I cannot even express how grateful I am for) but I am just putting it out there that we could really use some help. I'm just not sure what else to do.
UPDATE: Between this and donations received outside of gofundme, we have reached our goal! I cannot thank all of you enough for your generosity. Barb thanks you and loves you too. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Many of you have met or at least heard stories of the wonder that is Barbara Jean. She has been the light of my life for almost 13 years and if you know her, you know how special she is. This past year has been rough. She has had a series of medical issues and was diagnosed with diabetes in May. After very scary bouts of hypoglycemia and seizures and yet another veterinary stay, we discovered today that she is in REMISSION! This is excellent news. However, she does have a nasty urinary tract infection (one of many she has had over the past year) which can be caused by diabetes. After she recovers from that and has a few other tests, she should be in the clear for at least a little while.
I am not one to ask for things and pride myself in taking care of business on my own... but the vet bills have reached a few thousand at this point and have more than drained all my savings. This latest visit has put me in the hole costing us $900. Anything helps and we are really just trying to get our account out of the red for now since Barb and Olive simply refuse to get jobs.
Thank you in advance.
Love,
Barb, Olive, Ratsy Cline and Kailee
