Queen Charlotte's Villeins

We are Queen Charlotte's Villeins, a new Shakespeare troupe in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Our mission is to provide clear, grounded, passionate, accessible presentations of Shakespeare's works, with the goal of becoming a repertoire company that has a "motley" aesthetic, capable of performing out of a trunk anytime, anywhere.

Our initial fundraiser was to reimburse everyone involved in the first production of our Un-Staged Reading series, TWELFTH NIGHT (or what you will) in August of 2023, and still have not quite met that goal.

But that hasn't stopped us!

Our next Un-Staged Reading will be MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, with the aim of a full (and unique) production of that show in 2024.

The Un-Staged Reading Series provides a casual, “living room” atmosphere, enhanced by sound and music.

Plus, we're currently developing our educational content channel filled with info, insights, and discoveries we find as part of our studies and our productions.
