The team's aim is to build a high-performance single-seat racing car that can enter the world-renowned competition: IMechE’s Formula Student. The competition encompasses circa. 100 teams at Silverstone from all over the world.
Formula Student is aimed at innovative and enterprising young students, giving a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in a racing team. The members of this society have the chance to be challenged, as they must design and build a single-seat racing car to compete in a variety of static and dynamic events.
One of the objectives of this team is to demonstrate the performance of the vehicle by doing rigorous testing procedures, both at University and at the Silverstone Event.
The team is made of 50 multi-disciplinary members who are all entirely committed to delivering a bespoke race car by the competition this year.
The challenge facing our project is that we require more than double our current assets under management to produce a single prototype race car, which cost around £ 30,300, where money is needed to buy the required car parts (excluding spare ones). Specifically, money will be spent on:
- Drivetrain (£5,915.83),
- Electronics (£ 3,757.98)
- PowerTrain (£4,520.09)
- Suspension (£ 5,390.02)
- Chassis (£3,852.78)
- Operations (£6,855)
The amount that we currently have is not sufficient for carrying out all the operations required to achieve our goals.
We highly appreciate any help and support. ☺️
To thank you for your support, the names of all donors will be displayed on a sticker in a prominent location on the car.
