Queens Falcons Youth Football Organization

In the early 90's Norman Kane took on the Forest Hills Youth Association that wanted to discontinue youth football in the neighborhood. Norm did not want that to happen. Norm took the burden on himself to create the Forest Hills Youth Football Organization and moved the new program from Fleet St to Juniper Valley Park. What started as a passion project to help the many youth of the surrounding neighborhoods turned into something bigger than anyone could have imagine.

Norm first recruited Paul Krische, Gregory Hoffman and the late Stephen Hoffman (Greg's twin brother that unfortunately perished in the terror attacks that brought down the World Trade Center on 9/11) to assist with the program. Soon after Tim Cavanaugh and later on Joseph Marino came together to form the core of what the current Queens Falcons are today.

Through Norm's initial determination and caring for the youth, and the work of those aforementioned men, the program became more than just football. Each year, of the 200+ children that play for the program, some are given a chance to improve their educational opportunities through football, making the program that Norm saved to become the beacon for all of the members of New York City Youth Football an opportunity to attend schools the likes of Wyoming Seminary, Choate, Lawrenceville , The George School , St Paul's School ( Where a former Falcon player is currently class president) and many more.

The program became a steppingstone for so many young men. Sure, the program can talk about the number championships that the Falcons have acquired, but the program now also has assisted 100's young man to have an opportunity to attend private boarding schools.

This page will be to assist the program that Norm cared about so much and took a chance on and 30+ years later is still going strong.
