Queer Co-op Soundsystem

Hi! We’re a queer music co-op based out on Gadigal land (Sydney). Between us are a collected 10+ years experience working in and around the music industry, and from that experience we’ve become inspired to start our own music collective! Our goal is to provide free and easy access to professional audio equipment for and share our variety of technical skills with Sydney’s queer and marginalized communities.

Our co-op covers expertise in sound tech, lighting tech, graphic design, gig photography, event organization, community organising, and operations management. And with this experience we plan to run community-centric queer events including live music, DJ nights, and exhibitions in order to uplift and showcase the skills of artists within the local scene which will be run largely at cost. Additionally we plan to supply community orgs with our equipment at low-cost / free (bond required) to empower their voices while keeping everything community run!

We have already invested over $4000 AUD into securing PA systems for our collective and are asking for your help to raise funds for the remaining equipment and logistics to make our dream reality!

While we have set the overall goal at $6000 to cover remaining equipment, we are working off a tiered plan to ensure your donation will still help as best as possible!

$3000 - Rack mount mixer, mixing surface, amplification suitable for a gig

$5000 - As above however we would be able to upgrade to a mixing desk as opposed to a rack mount mixer.

$6000 - As above however we would be able to upgrade the mixing desk to a high quality digital mixer and more amplification. $6000 also includes our love :)
