Hello everyone,
My name is Sasha and I run a mutual aid network on Instagram (@holisticmutualaid). I have been talking to someone who reached out to me there for a few weeks now, and she is in need of help.
My friend is a queer single parent of one young child and she is living in a part of the world where being queer is a crime. This created an incredibly dangerous situation for her, and she had to flee from her own family. She is safe now with her child, but they are in need of money to start over again in a new town.
She is trying to maintain her housing, groceries, and medicine for herself and her child. Because of the traumatic experiences she has undergone, she is also looking to attend therapy to maintain her mental health. All of these are very important basic needs to keep her and her child safe and healthy.
Through the generosity of the community, we have been able to raise the funds that helped her escape from a few dangerous situations and now, with your help, we can create permanent stability for this family.
Any additional funds raised will be going toward helping my friend set up her small business. She is a talented cook, and she has a plan to create sustainable income for herself by making and selling food from her home (the below photo is one of her scrumptious creations!) In order to do this, she needs the money to buy new cooking equipment and also replace all the household goods she lost when she fled.
I will be collecting the money for her and transferring it to her PayPal. If you would like to send money via Venmo, please message me for the Venmo details. Anything collected there will also be transferred to my friend via her PayPal.
I will also post updates along the way so you can know how she is doing.
