Hello everyone, 

For the past 20 years, our teacher, sister and friend, Quenia Ribeiro has shone her light, brought "ashe" and touched thousand lives with samba, joy and her positive energy. 

Without her, many who are now samba fans would never have found such a strong, vibrant community and would never have experienced an island of pure happiness in the gritty NYC environment.

Sizzling....

Quenia brightly represents Brazil and all of samba's traditions. She is always smiling, welcoming and has kind words for everyone: without her, many of us would not have been connected to the spirit via samba.

Now, Quenia needs us.  She has to undergo a medical procedure and as a result,  will be away and not working for a long time. She needs help covering the medical and recovery costs. 

This is where YOU can contribute. Quenia has given so much to so many, let's show her some love, show up strong as a community and give back to her. Many of us have been looking for an opportunity to say thanks and this is it.
