Quiet Skies San Diego CEQA Challenge
Donation protected
The San Diego Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA) released its Final Environmental Impact Report for the proposed $3B Airport Development Plan (ADP), proposing to add eleven new gates to Terminal 1. This expansion will allow an increase from 36 flights per hour to over 50.
This plan not only ignores World Health Organization analyses and recommendations regarding jet noise and pollution and skirts the FAA’s own requirements to study the effects of noise on humans, it also short-circuits the SDCRAA’s own ongoing Part 150 and flight procedures studies being conducted to help mitigate the existing noise.
A legal CEQA challenge to the Final EIR is immediately required and your support is needed. The objective of the CEQA challenge will be to ask the court to set aside those portions of the ADP for which there is inadequate support regarding the environmental and health consequences of the project.
If you appreciate our efforts, and you are concerned about airport noise in many San Diego communities, from East County to Pt Loma, to La Jolla and beyond, we need your financial support now!
Legal fees are necessary and of course, not inexpensive. Please donate to our GoFundMe.com campaign or at our Quiet Skies website to help fund the necessary legal actions.
We need your help to protect the health of our community and the quiet, peaceful enjoyment of the jewel that is our spectacular natural environment.
