Quin Matune's Eagle Scout Project 2023
Donation protected
Update: the new goal is to make 4 total picnic tables for the American Legion. As of April, funding was secured for 3 and 3 have been completed. I am hoping to make a 4th picnic table, each table costing approximately $300.
Hi, this is Quin and my mom started this page to help me with fundraising for my Eagle Scout Project. I have been in Scouts since the 1st grade and I am in my Junior year of high school. I have always enjoyed building things and solving problems. In the spring of 2020, I worked with a family friend to make a bench from scratch for my family. Ever since then, I have enjoyed woodworking and am eager to use this skill to help my community and the American Legion Post 80.
My Eagle Scout project is to construct two picnic tables with pressure-treated lumber for the American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove. They are the sponsoring organization for my Boy Scout Troop, Troop 80, and a great location for the community to come together in their outdoor space.
Currently, there is one picnic table on the Legion's grounds. The current picnic table is a safety hazard and no longer serves its intended purpose. By building two new picnic tables for the American Legion, this will improve the looks of the property while providing more safe seating and table space for events.
I appreciate your donation, help, and support on my journey to Eagle Scout.
Any donation over the goal amount or not used for this project will be donated to the Alexander Bradley Burns American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove, IL.
