QUINN KERBER
5 years old. Young loving bright little girl. Two weeks since starting kindergarten.
On September 18th, life for the Kerber family has been forever changed. The parents received a call that no parent ever wants to receive. Their day-home provider informed them that their daughter was in a life-threatening accident.
Quinn is currently fighting for her life. Due to her injuries, she will likely never be the same little girl we have known for the last five years. Unfortunately, this is the best-case scenario. She is currently in the Alberta Children's Hospital PICU awaiting tests to determine her brain function.
Quinn's mother works as a nurse and was 8 hours away at the time of the incident. She had no other option but to drive back overnight to be with her little girl. A painfully long drive with thoughts surely racing through her mind. The father was in the middle of seeking new employment as COVID-19 resulted in losing his prior position. They also have another child who is younger than Quinn. This family has been resilient during this pandemic but surely their lives will be deeply impacted by this. This family has always been active in the community and always ready to lend a helping hand.
At this time the Kerber family will need financial support to help pay for lost wages, monthly expenses, parking fees, and gas to and from the hospital.
The pain that my husband and I feel right now cannot come close to the pain felt by the Kerber family.
