Dr. Dolittle needs help for Annie

"Annie" the Elk
Welcome to Annie’s gofundme page! Please help with this real life ‘Doctor Dolittle’ story. After nearly 30 years of caring for Annie, Lee Kemper would like to have a life-sized bronze statue to memorialize her before she passes; she is the longest living domesticated elk in the U.S.
The statue will be permanently displayed in a public area so Annie and the story of her human caregivers, can be shared and enjoyed. Annie is living comfortably with two of her grand-daughters at Keno’s Lama Ranch in Estes Park, CO. Unfortunately, time and arthritis are taking its toll.
The local wildlife authorities found Annie in 1989, and seeked out Lee and Molly Kemper to care for the orphaned 5 day old elk. The Kempers, retired restaurateurs also had a llama ranch.

A Loveland, Colorado foundry has been selected and a design/bust will be started by January. All funds will go towards the statue and installation. Your help and support will be documented and followed with a website and social media.
