FANATICO (2019) Official Trailer

Raising money for our next horror short entitled "Camp Calypso."

LOGLINE: A summer camp with a history of violence against female counselors is hunted by a vengeful, man-eating siren that lives in the lake.

The film is going to be a fun, '70s style monster movie about a summer camp with a history of misogyny that is hunted by a man-eating siren living in the lake. The story follows main character, Margot, as she arrives at Camp Calypso in 1978 (cheesy dated dialogue and retro costumes galore!) and learns of the camp's dark history through gossip among the campers and counselors. Tensions rise throughout the film as male counselors begin being mysteriously slaughtered and eaten.

We are heavily inspired by Barbara Creed's concept of the monstrous feminine. Having a powerful female "monster" as well as powerful female protagonists is vital to the story. Switching up the horror genre by having strong women lead the narrative and men be the exploited and victimized, gives the film a feminist twist.
The film is also inspired by a multitude of different classic horror films, both from the '70s/'80s and contemporary horror, including Sleepaway Camp (1984), Madman (1982), Friday the 13th (1980) and Jennifer's Body (2009).

To familiarize you with us, we are the producers of FANATICO (2019), a campy giallo-inspired horror short. Tackling themes of religious corruption and violence against the sexually liberated, the film features hyper stylized visuals, authentic vintage costumes, and a variety of gory practical effects. The film also features an all-original score, original foley, and an original hand-drawn title design. Since finishing the film in February, we've been accepted into film festivals, as well as had a successful premiere at the Clinton Street Theater with over 200 attendees.

With FANATICO, our primary goal was to really get our name out there and get people excited again about collaborating with us to create a new kind of fresh, hyper-stylized, independent femme horror. With Camp Calypso, we hope to take what we've learned with FANATICO and raise the bar even higher. This means we'll have better quality equipment (such as shooting on a 4K digital camera), more crew, more cast members, more gore and *hopefully* more funding!

Thank you for your support!
