On March 13th as we left our beloved BGC after practice, we never could have imagined the severe impact that the COVID-19 outbreak would have on ALL of our families, and our World! The COVID-19 mandatory shutdown changed ALL of our lives in an instant!
After 9 weeks now, some things in our lives are starting to get back to normal. Some of our businesses are starting to re-open, some of us may even be back to work. But, we are ALL seeing the severe finacial impact everywhere in our communities!
The finacial impact couldn't have been clearer to me than as I was reading a Op-ed on our local news channel Q-13 Fox did May 13th. about our sport and our local Gymnastics facilities. Not only are we losing our competative edge due to the shutdown, but the finacial impact on them has been SEVERE!!
No GYMNASTS, No REVENUE!!
While these large facilities are amazing, and we are lucky to train in them!! They are very costly!! The Q-13, article reported on the E. C. Gymnastics, it's facilities loss since shutdown to date at nearly $750,000.00!! That's NOT including payroll for employees!! Staggering!!
Our hearts go out to ALL the owners of our local Gymnastics facilities!
But especially OUR beloved BGC owners, Keala and Amy. Through no fault of their own, have been severely impacted by the COVID-19. All the while making sure ALL, their wonderful coaching staffs health benefits remain intact!
Amy, Keala and their amazing coaching staff have continued to be a support system to our children during the shutdown, keeping our teams connected, and engaged via ZOOM Meetings/Daily Workouts/ Games, giving our children some semblance of normalcy and a fun outlet for the gymnasts throughout the COVID chaos!!!
But while the BGC staff is eager, ready, and sanitized, awaiting the go ahead from the Governor to re-open in whatever capacity, the financial impact and loss will be felt and affect BGC long into the future!!
Whether you are Parents of J.O., Xcel, Pre-Team, involved in Recreational Classes, Preschool Playtime, Summer Camps, or you just want to show support for a local business! PLEASE help us make sure that BGC will be able to survive this financial impact, return and THRIVE for ALL of our athletes, now and into the future!! WE ALL WANT TO HELP!! One person can only do so much! But when the community gets involved we can really have a amazing affect!
Please donate, help us show Keala and Amy, how much we LOVE and ENJOY the business they have Built for our families!!
Thank you!!
