"Stronger Together" for the Williams Family

This year began with excitement as Matt anticipated becoming owner of CrossFit Crowned.  His desire to help others make positive life changes which support a healthy lifestyle can be seen in the energy he put forth turning his passion for wellness into a business dream.  Even through the challenges of a pandemic he helped those at the gym maintain a routine, stay motivated, and provided encouragement to keep them moving.  He offered ways to help members connect while isolated.  Nobody was more excited than Matt to finally open the doors on May 26th.  Unfortunately, shortly after, his life and the lives of his family and friends, suddenly changed.

On June 9, after a routine colonoscopy, Matt was told the devastating news; they found a tumor, it was cancer.  After follow-up testing, doctors discovered adenocarcinoma that metastasized to his lungs, liver, and lymph nodes.  On June 11, Matt had surgery to resect the tumor, which was thankfully a success.  As he recovers he awaits more testing and a treatment plan to fight the cancer in the rest of his body. 

Matt is a father, husband, son, brother, grandfather, friend, and so much more.  His heart is as big as his physique and his passion for life is unparalleled. His motivation for excellence is his family. His beautiful wife, Shondie, children Bryce, Mia and Maci are at the center of Matt’s world. A world which has been shaken for them all this past week.  It doesn’t seem fair to have something this tragic happen to a such a wonderful family.  And to someone who has dedicated themselves to making the right choices for not only himself, but those around him. 

Matt is strong.  He is a fighter.  And he will beat this ugly disease. But as we all know this does come at many costs to the family; emotionally, physically, and financially. We can stand strong with him and support him and his family during this time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and donation to help ease the financial burden placed on the Williams.
