Welcome to our Fundraising page for "The Last Days: The Passion and Death of Jesus, the Christ", a live, theatrical experience unlike any other which happens only once a year, commemorating Christ's ultimate sacrifice on behalf of all of humanity.
So WHY does this production need your help?
Nearly a decade in existence, "The Last Days" migrated in 2019 out of its previous home community in an effort to expand and bring the story of Christ’s gift to the world to a larger audience. Doing so required us, the creators & performers (Maria Vargo/Jonathan Roumie), for the first time to raise money in order to rent all the lights, sound, stage, and additional equipment, and finally, pay all the actors. Something that was not possible previously.
The cost of this expansion was greater than we expected. But given our MISSION to evangelize through the arts, it’s what we felt God had called us to do, trusting He would provide no matter what.
We were beyond blessed to find a number of partners in this mission (including our new church home) that gave us a generous amount of assistance in providing location and equipment solutions at a very fair price. We also felt it only right to pay the castmembers a modest stipend for the first time ever, for all the hard work - months of rehearsal time that they had been giving over the years. There are over 20 castmembers by the way!
Accordingly, all of these expenses result in a budget of approximately $65k which, for five, fully produced, Broadway-quality live shows are quite modest.
As we prepare to once more perform this Sacred Drama next year, we must again cast our nets and rely on the generosity of you, our community, in hopes of raising enough money for the production.
Would you consider contributing to “The Last Days” this year? You’re helping us further God’s presence in a community that truly needs and deserves His Light and Peace. AGAIN - WE ARE A 501(c)3 NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMPANY, so every dollar is tax-deductible, whether contributing $25 or $25,000!
NO MATTER what level of support you might be blessed to provide, would you also share this page with everyone you know so that we may continue working in the mission fields to bring Christ’s message of Mercy, Love, and Redemption to Los Angeles and beyond?
