Justin's Kidney Surgery

As many of you know, Justin has been fighting an "annoying" and painful battle with his Crohns disease, right kidney and ureter. He has had mulitple maintenance surgeries to keep him going. The major maintenance that has been somewhat helpful has been a plastic stint in his kidney ureter and biologics to control his inflammation. Though they help, he still continues to have pain. He is not able to do what most people can do in his daily activities. Walking hurts, running is not possible and because of this issue, he has hard to put his dream on hold of becoming a police officer.
After meeting with his Urologist this past week, his doctors have finally put together a plan than can fix him permanently and get his life back to normal so that he can reach his dream of getting back to a normal life and becoming a police officer! The problem is that it will cost quite a bit of money, even with insurance so we are asking for assistance from our close friends and family.

Justin's Story:
In early 2009 Justin was attenting college working on his degree in Criminal Justice. He began to have alot of stomach pain which caused several ambulances rides to the E.R. Doctors would run tests but could never quite figure out what was going on. Finally in Oct 2009, Dr. Robert E Davis of Sugarland diagnosed Justin with Crohns disease. It took several months before they could get Justin the right group of medication to keep him going on with a pain free life, but he finally achieved remission.
Then in 2011 after graduating college, he enrolled and was accepted into the Mclennan Police academy in Waco TX with a hope to join the Baylor College Police department. On a Saturday, two days before his first day at the academy, Justin was in the gym and began to feel ill. He was taken to the E.R. again, this time to discover that his infected area of Crohns was pushing on his right ureter and preventing the right kidney from draining properly causing harm to his kidney. He had emergency surgery to save the kidney in which they went in through the urethra and put in a plastic stint to hold open the ureter to allow the kidney to drain. The surgery was successful, but had a down side. It is only temperary and the stint has to be changed every 6 months.
After learning this, his shot at the academy was no longer an option due to the pain of wearing caused from the stint placed in his ureter.
Justin can not wait to live a day without the pain from these issues. He told me recently that he doesn't remember life without pain. It is so hard to see the person you love in pain. I pray that we are able to get some resolution for him!
