Help Arwa and her family evacuate from Gaza

Hello world! This is Arwa and this is my story.

I am a fourth-year medical student at Al Azhar University in Gaza. I live in the Al Rimal neighborhood in Gaza. My story begins more than 80 days ago while I was under bombardment. As you all know, Gaza has been suffering from a war for more than 3 months. Me and my family were displaced from our neighborhood, which was completely destroyed.

We went to a shelter school in Gaza, after which we were forced to leave that school because of the leaflets that were thrown at the school demanding its evacuation.

Everything was so difficult that we were sleeping on the ground without any necessities to survive. Despite all this badness, the situation does not stop here. We were forced to flee to Khan Yunis and stay there for more than two and a half months until the order came to evacuate where I was staying. This is the third displacement, but this time is the most difficult. We do not know anyone in Rafah. There is no place for us and we cannot go to a tent because my grandmother is paralyzed and has pneumonia so she cannot move or sleep on the floor.

Everything became more difficult. Now I live in a place that was bombed, a room in an abandoned house that has not been inhabited for 12 years and has no necessities for life, with 20 members of my family and members of the family that contained us in Khan Yunis before. We are trying to live despite all the conditions. I urgently need to get out of Gaza with my family. Your help means that I will complete my education. Your help means that you are the reason I am alive despite all the bombing around me.

Not only me, but also my younger brother was studying with me at the same university and in the same specialty, medicine. But the war stole our dreams and stole our lives. Our house was bombed. I wish I could show you the pictures, but I am so far from our house that even when it is bombed, I cannot see it.

As you can see, the extent of the destruction and killing was more than 20 thousand martyrs during that period and is still increasing. My grandmother is Egyptian, and I am supposed to take citizenship and travel like other holders of citizenship, but the citizenship procedures were not completed due to the war. I really don’t want to die in this war. I always dream of continuing my career in medicine and becoming a doctor to help my people whose health services have stopped due to the war, but my dream will not be complete because there is no way for me to complete or even stay alive except to have dual citizenship or to pay $7,000 for each member of my family. أنا أروى طالبة طب بالمستوى الرابع في جامعة الأزهر بغزة. أسكن في حي الرمال بغزة. بدأت قصتي منذ أكثر من 80 يومًا عندما كنت تحت القصف. وكما تعلمون جميعاً فإن غزة تعاني من الحرب منذ أكثر من 3 أشهر. نزحت أنا وعائلتي من حينا “الذي دمر بالكامل” وذهبنا إلى مدرسة إيواء في غزة، وبعد ذلك اضطررنا لمغادرة تلك المدرسة بسبب المنشورات التي ألقيت على المدرسة تطالب بإخلائها. كان كل شيء صعباً لدرجة أننا كنا ننام على الأرض دون أي مقومات للبقاء على قيد الحياة، ورغم كل هذا السوء إلا أن الوضع لا يتوقف هنا، فاضطررنا إلى النزوح إلى خان يونس والبقاء هناك لأكثر من شهرين ونصف حتى زاد الامر سوءاً . جاء الأمر بإخلاء المكان الذي كنت فيه، وهذه المرة الثالثة للنزوح، لكن هذه المرة هي الأصعب ، ولا نعرف أحداً في رفح. لا يوجد مكان لنا ولا نستطيع الذهاب إلى خيمة لأن جدتي مقعدة ومصابة بالتهاب رئوي ولا تستطيع الحركة أو النوم على الأرض، كل شيء أصبح أكثر صعوبة. الآن أعيش في مكان تم قصفه، غرفة في منزل مهجور لم يسكنه أحد منذ 12 عامًا وليس به أي مقومات للحياة، مع 20 فردًا من عائلتي وأفراد العائلة التي كانت تحتوينا في خانونس من قبل. نحاول أن نعيش رغم كل الظروف, أنا بحاجة ماسة للخروج من غزة مع عائلتي. مساعدتكم تعني أنني سأكمل تعليمي، مساعدتكم تعني أنك السبب في بقائي على قيد الحياة رغم كل القصف من حولي.

لست أنا وحدي، بل أخي الأصغر يدرس معي في نفس الجامعة وفي نفس تخصص الطب. لكن الحرب سرقت أحلامنا وسرقت حياتنا. تم قصف منزلنا، أتمنى أن أريكم الصور، لكنني بعيد عن منزلنا لدرجة أنني لا أستطيع رؤيته حتى عندما تم قصفه. وكما ترون فإن حجم الدمار والقتل كان أكثر من 20 ألف شهيد خلال تلك الفترة وما زال في تزايد. جدتي مصرية، ومن المفترض أن آخذ الجنسية وأسافر مثل باقي حاملي الجنسية، لكن إجراءات الجنسية لم تكتمل بسبب الحرب. أنا حقا لا أريد أن أموت في هذه الحرب. أحلم دائمًا بمواصلة مسيرتي في الطب وأن أصبح طبيبة لمساعدة اهلي في القطاع الذين توقفت خدماتهم الصحية بسبب الحرب، لكن حلمي لن يكتمل لأنه لا سبيل لي لإكمال أو حتى البقاء على قيد الحياة إلا أن أكون جنسية مزدوجة أو دفع 7000 دولار لكل فرد من أفراد عائلتي. ساعدوني لأكمل حلمي وأخرج من تحت اقصف . تبرع لي بما تستطيع وستكون سبباً في بقائي على قيد الحياة واستكمال حلمي، هذا هو الطريق الوحيد والأخير، رغم أن مغادرة البلد العزيز على قلوبنا والذهاب بعيداً مؤلم وصعب جداً، لكن الوضع لا يطاق والموت في كل مكان، لذلك لدي أمل في نجاحه، فلا تخيبوا املي . ‎‏
