Help my mommy stay with me

My name is Marissa I’ve created this fundraiser for my sister Tori and her son Kingston. She is a single mom of three and her middle child Kingston is currently in the hospital with a huge tumor on his kidney.

Backstory: Kingston was complaining his tummy hurt my sis gave him some pepto, because what do we all think when your baby says their tummy hurts? Constipation and gas right?! WRONG The next day he was still complaining about it so my sister took him to the emergency room. They gave him some scans at our local small town hospital. That’s when a parents worse nightmare came to life. The DR told her “he has a huge mass on his kidney and it’s most likely cancer.” They flew them out via helicopter at 4am to the closest hospital that specializes in this type of thing. They had him take more pictures because the ones they already had we’re terribly low quality.

The result came in and the dr said it’s not a cyst it looks like a wilms tumor or it’s another type of cancer we will know for sure after a biopsy. Also the lymph nodes around the kidney are swollen so it appears to be spreading. He should be having surgery this week to remove the kidney, if they can’t get it all he will have to go through chemotherapy.

This is a very scary time for a parent and I want to make sure my sister doesn’t also need to worry about money from missing work. Being a single mom of three money is already tight even missing one day has a huge impact. She will be missing minimum two weeks from work and more if he needs to go back for chemo. Please share this fundraiser. I will update here as info comes in.

UPDATE: The tumor is so big he has to do chemo to shrink it before they can remove it. Today he had his biopsy to determine the specific type of tumor it is so they know what type of chemo regimen to use. Currently we have no idea how much money we will need in order to ensure Tori will be able to stay with Kingston since this will be ongoing treatment. Thank you everyone who has donated and shared this fundraiser we have met the initial goal! Once we know his schedule we’ll be able to get a more specific goal.

Update March 22:

It has been confirmed kingston has the wilms tumor it’s stage 3. He has to get chemo every week for 25 weeks to shrink the tumor before they can attempt to remove it. He will also need radiation.

So far It’s been three weeks since this has started and my sister and king has spent EVERYDAY in the hospital except one. Kingston keeps running a fever so they have kept him at the hospital to monitor him closely.

Update May 22: (surgery is tomorrow)

Kingston’s tumor didn’t shrink at all it actually grew. His surgery is going to be a big one , it could take up to 8 hours , they won’t know until they get in there but if it has attached to anything else they will have to remove pieces of whatever it has attached to as well. After he heals he will need to stay for a week of radiation so they will have to be there for 4-5 weeks. My sister has not been able to work at all this entire time so please share and donate if you can
