•UPDATE FROM BROOKE 7/26/23
Gatlin is doing SO MUCH BETTER! He has a neuromuscular disorder. The labs and tests they have done are split evenly between two different ones, so we are treating both. Some of the lab work takes 2 weeks to result but hopefully we can get a more definitive diagnosis with those. He is still intubated while we get all the meds in his system but hoping to extubate towards the end of the week and see how he does. With a few doses of these meds Gatlin is soooo much STRONGER!! We are SO GRATEFUL for all of the thoughts, prayers, donations, messages, phone calls, and support! Y’all will never know how much it means to us and how much we feel your prayers and love! Praying sweet Gatlin continues on this path to healing and thanking God for bringing us this far!! #GATLINSTRONG
•UPDATE 7/23/23 FROM BROOKE
Since Gatlin was extubated Friday afternoon it’s been a rough ride for everyone. He has been very confused and agitated. They had to reintubate him this morning. The doctors are really thinking this is something neurological. He just went down to have a repeat MRI and they will do a lumbar puncture later today. We don’t fully know what’s going on but they have consulted ENT, neurology, pulmonology, cardiology, speech therapy, and infectious disease. Please pray that they find answers and that what is found is treatable. We are struggling to keep it together but we know Gatlin is so strong and God is good!

Gatlin, Brooke and Thomas’ 5 year old son, is currently at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. He began to get sick while they were at the beach last week so they decided to come home early. He became severely short of breath on the way back home and by the grace of God they made it to a hospital in time. They have never been more scared in their lives. The main problem right now is his secretions are so thick he can’t clear his airway. They still are not sure what’s causing this. He is stable and was extubated yesterday but remains on high flow oxygen and many medications. ENT scoped him and his throat looks good and they are also running many test and consulting many specialist. Please pray for healing and answers! Gatlin is so strong and they are so ready to get him feeling better and home! GOD IS GOOD!
If you feel led to please pray and/or donate to help offset some of the expenses they are facing. They are so thankful for all the prayers that have been made and they feel each and every one of them.
