QYAC Support Fund
Hello there!
Queer Youth Art Collective (QYAC) is an online youth group for young queer people aged 18-26, who share a common interest in the arts.
The group was started in autumn 2019 by artist Fredrik Andersson (Fredde Lanka) and Art Therapist Susy Langsdale. QYAC connects participants with like minded peers and offers guidance from experienced LGBTQIA+ practitioners from a range of backgrounds.
QYAC also works in collaboration with The Outside Project, the UK's first LGBTQIA+ homelessness service and community centre, to make sure that this group is made available for guests and friends of the centre.
COVID impact:
After the first lockdown was put in place, attendance to QYAC sessions increased with the move from being a physical group into the more easily accessible virtual realm.
As restrictions have eased we have chosen to remain an online group even as restrictions have eased in order to make sure that as many people as possible can access our weekly sessions.
We run entirely on donations and we’re asking for your support to run another term of activity:
1: Paying the artists who will run workshops with the group.
2: Cass Art vouchers that will be given to the participants in order for them to secure art supplies that can be sent to their homes.
3: Covering the cost of administration and promotion, to ensure that the people who need this service know how to find it.
This funding is for QYAC sessions starting on the 17th of September and ending on the 26th November.
