Help my family escape Gaza
Donation protected
My name is Dina Aljazzar, and I am reaching out to you from Canada, where I have started a new life. Despite the distance, my heart is with my family back in Gaza, whose daily life has become a testament to resilience and survival amidst ongoing conflict.
Before the turmoil escalated on October 7th, my family enjoyed a life filled with joy and stability. My father was a successful businessman, my mother a teacher with UNRWA, and my siblings were university students. But the recent conflict has razed our home, disrupted our livelihoods, and dimmed the bright futures my family once envisioned. The photo below shows some of my siblings' children standing atop the ruins of what was once their home—a powerful image of the devastation they face daily.
The violence has taken a personal toll as well. My brother sustained a severe head injury from debris during a nearby explosion and, after a two-week coma, was released from a hospital that lacked the resources for his full recovery. He continues to suffer due to a shortage of necessary medications in Gaza.
My elderly mother, my siblings, their partners, and their children—a total of 14 people, 7 adults and 7 kids—are still in dire need of escaping the harsh conditions in Gaza. They lack access to basic necessities such as food, water, and electricity.
We urgently need to raise at least $130,000 CAD to cover the costs of permits, crossing fees at the Rafah-Egypt border, and visa processing fees, including:
- $5,000 USD per adult and $2,500 USD per child under 16 for the necessary permits and crossing fees.
- $100 CAN per person or $500 CAN for families of five or more for Temporary Resident Visa application fees.
- $85 CAN per person or $170 CAN per family for biometrics fees.
- $1500 USD per month until they receive there visa to Canada.
Additionally, we anticipate the cost of airfare from Cairo to Ottawa to be around $1,500 CAN per person, depending on the season, and additional funds for shelter once they arrive in Canada.
This campaign is not just a call for help; it is a testament to human solidarity and the collective spirit that rises in response to those in need. Your contributions provide more than just financial relief, they offer hope and a pathway to safety for my family.
Please, if you are able, continue to support us by sharing our story and contributing to our fund. Every donation, no matter the size, is a step toward reuniting my family in a place where they can rebuild their lives in peace and security.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and compassion. Together, we can help my family move beyond the shadows of conflict toward a brighter future.
With deepest gratitude,
Dina Aljazzar
