This GoFundMe page is for Maria MacDonald, who is fighting for her life at Mass General in Boston.
Maria is a long time NURSE who has been working straight through the
COVID-19 pandemic. She has also taken the time to volunteer to help those in need at food drives.
On April 21st, Maria had to say goodbye to her beloved 13 yr old golden retriever Cassie after rushing her to the emergency vet and then Maria herself became sick. She was tested for COVID and tested positive. She got very sick, very fast and ended up at the Holyoke Medical Center.
She was then transported to Mass General in Boston, where she has been since May 5th, on a ventilator in the ICU.
Maria lives alone with her other pup Tux. Her daughter Courtney has been keeping us updated as much as she can while she prepares to help open her hair salon so they can all start working again.
Any funds raised will help this Northampton (HAMP) native with her expenses as she begins the healing process when she comes home. We all know how hard this has been for ALL of us and we have a chance to help our friend! Please help with any support, big or small, to help while she is getting healthy again and back on her feet after she gets home. Hopefully, the last thing she'll need to worry about for a little while is working and she will be able to just worry about herself and recuperating.
She is one of the strongest women around and I can't wait to hear that contagious laughter of hers again!
