Damian’s medical funds

The cost of travel, lodging, and medical expenses have added up quickly over the past year that Damian came into our lives and through every unexpected challenges he’s been through the past couple months. Damian was born with 3 Congenital Heart Defects, one being the most RARE occurring in 0.5% of patients- Congenital Mitral Valve stenosis Our 1 year old son came in to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Tx on October 5th for his 2nd open heart surgery, to repair his Aortic Valve & Mitral Valve. Unfortunately both valves have failed him and are too damaged for any further repairs. It’s now time for both valves to get replaced. Damian will undergo a 3rd open heart surgery on October 24th 2022.  The plan for his operation is a replacement to both Aortic Valve & Mitral Valve.  ✨A Ross procedure (The damaged Aortic Valve is removed, and replaced with his own Pulmonary Valve, a valve from a Donor is then used to replace his Pulmonary Valve).  ✨A Mechanical Mitral Valve will replace Damian’s damaged Mitral Valve. Mechanical mitral valve replacement for children under the age of 2 is extremely rare and the last option for a functioning heart valve, life threatening and high risk.   The risks with a mechanical valve also come with taking blood thinners for the rest of his life to prevent blood clots & future open heart surgeries to replace the mechanical valve as he grows into adulthood.  We are humbly asking for your support to alleviate the financial burden on our family during this difficult time.
