Our Story
My name is Muhammad Sudiq Ali Hassouna, and I’m 25 years old. I come from a family of eight, and we are desperately trying to leave Gaza, a place that has turned from a home into a nightmare. Just before the war began, I celebrated my graduation in software engineering, a milestone that filled me with hope for the future. Unfortunately, that happiness was short-lived.
For 18 years, we lived in Khan Younis, where we built our lives and cherished our memories. Everything changed when our home was destroyed, a loss that shattered our world. In the chaos, we have mourned the loss of family members and friends, and we watched as everything we held dear slipped away. The violence forced us to flee to Rafah, where we now find ourselves living in a tent with another family.
Our current situation is dire. We have no access to electricity, clean water, or any basic necessities. Each day is a struggle for survival, and the weight of uncertainty hangs over us. We have nothing left, and with the ongoing conflict, there are no opportunities to work or provide for our families. The dream of a better life feels more distant than ever, and we are left longing for the safety and security we once took for granted.
What the money will be used for
I am seeking assistance to ensure my family's safety as we attempt to cross into Egypt. The cost to cross the border is approximately $5,000 to $7,000 per person. Any remaining funds will be used for essential living expenses, including food and medical care.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping us reach safety. Thank you for your support during this difficult time.
