House Fire

Hi, my name is Theresa. This is very hard for me to reach out and ask for help, but this is something I need to allow help with. Today, 9/8/22 started off as an ordinary day. Got my 2 daughters off to school via the bus, visited with neighbors in our front yard and returned back inside our home with my 2 sons. We watched TV and then decided to run errands for a bit. We (my sons and I) returned home about 25 minutes later, to get a charger for my phone, and when we pulled up I noticed some smoke on our roof. Opened the front door looked in didn’t see any smoke inside, went into the kitchen and noticed smoke coming under the laundry room door. Called 911, returned outside and made sure my sons were outside the house. When I got back to the porch I heard a large boom, and then saw huge black smoke clouds coming from the back of our home. I knew our family was in for devastation. Luckily, our neighbors and passing cars called 911 as well and they arrived quickly. In my head it took forever, but I knew they were coming. And they rushed in to see what they were up against. They were able to get it out and they did their absolute best to save my kids pets that were inside still. My neighbors and a gentleman whom just stopped to see if I needed help were able to help me bust open our garage and get our dogs out that were trapped in the garage. My amazing neighbor did CPR on my daughters Guinea pig, and saved him. We and the firefighters weren’t able to locate or save my daughters 2 cats, and we are heartbroken but know it could have been soooo much worse. We could have been sleeping, we could have not came home, or one of our children or husband could have passed.

Our kids are such sweet children and are loved by so many. Our daughters are 9 and 7 and sons are 5 and 3. They go to Jefferson Elementary, they love school and we’re so excited to start back. Any funds that is collected will go to our temporary housing, replacing our childrens clothes, shoes, school supplies, emergency vet bills, household bills, storage unit, lost wages and letting our children replace their special and important stuffies and toys.
