Panama Missions Trip

Hello Friends and Family!

I am excited to share with you the opportunity God has provided for me this summer. From July 29 – August 5 I will be taking a short-term missions trip to Panama! Our team from Charter Oak Church will be serving with David and Marianella Buenos who are full-time missionaries with SCORE International. David and Marianella have a heart for the forgotten people groups in Panama. Their primary mission is to serve the indigenous Panamanians living in remote villages throughout Panama. However, their mission has now grown to include a large homeless ministry in Panama City with an associated ministry to inner-city youth.

Our team will leave early each morning and travel up to 2 hours by bus, flatboat, or canoe to ministry locations in deep jungle villages, remote mountain communities, and on the streets of Panama City. Part of our team will be serving as a mobile medical clinic, taking medical care to people who often could not otherwise access it. At the same times and locations, the other part of our team will be conducting various evangelistic activities through children’s programs, sports, and one on one conversations.

I am very excited about being a part of this mission team and can’t wait to use the gifts and abilities that God has given me to bring Christ’s love to the people I will encounter in Panama. As you may know, I am currently in Physician Assistant school at Seton Hill University and I am excited to participate in a medical missions trip! I am also looking forward to receiving the love of Christ through my service for Him. The reason I’m contacting you is because I can’t do this trip on my own and I’d love for you to help. If you would like to help send me to Panama this summer, there are two ways to be involved:

1. First, and most importantly, you can help by supporting me in prayer! Pray that the Holy Spirit would already begin working in the hearts of the people that we will encounter, allowing them to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that they may be filled with all the fullness of God. Pray that God would prepare all of us for what He will do during our trip. Your prayers are greatly appreciated, so feel free to pray as the Holy Spirit leads.

2. You can help by supporting me financially. The total cost of my trip will be around $1725 and will cover everything from airfare, lodging, and food to medical supplies, Bibles, and translators. 50% of the trip cost is due April 17 and the balance is due by June 5. Would you prayerfully consider supporting me financially according to how God leads you? Any amount of money that you are willing to give to send me to Panama will be greatly appreciated, received as grace, and used to bring the loving power of the Gospel to those who are in need. Thank you for your willingness to hear about what I’ll be up to this summer and for prayerfully considering how you might help.
