Help furnish R World library in Malawi. Nearly there!

This short video tells the story of R World’s achievements since launching in 2021; the library being our latest, a beautiful legacy to my son Robbie, whose interest in international development in Africa may have resulted in just this. It is set to give some of the poorest people in the world, including those at the local school and orphanage, access to some of the opportunities we have here in the United Kingdom.

To open though, we still need to raise money to install all the furniture, books and computers as seen in our video. Once up and running, the library will gradually run itself using the fees paid to join. The library will also bring much needed employment to the area.

Over the last year, we at R World have remotely watched the library being built, have visited Malawi and have even made some of the bricks with the local community. Our journey can be read on our website (https://www.rworld.org.uk/projects/malawi/). We’ve had many problems to solve along the way in relation to the inevitable flooding and huge inflation. But the people we have dealt with have all shown a remarkable work ethic, even working over Christmas to finish. Malawi definitely deserves the title of the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’.

All donations, however small, will help to make this project a success and will be gratefully received! If you would like to donate a book with a dedication to Robbie, please contact me.
