Can You Help With Medical Expenses?

My name is Julie and I am fundraising for Ruth Sumpter. For those of you who know Ruth, there's not a lot that gets her down. About four weeks ago, Ruth started exhibiting symptoms of illness and ended up spending two solid weeks in the hospital. Her diagnosis remains uncertain at this time. What caused her initial symptoms appeared to be an infection but test results were not conclusive. Ruth was very sick and she says she doesn't remember the period of time that she was hospitalized.

What did come out of the testing was that there are two suspicious masses on her left side. One is on her ovary and another is located in her hip muscle. At first it appeared that these masses were cancerous but further testing will need to be done to confirm or deny that. We are headed to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester to see what the orthopedic oncologist can find out and eventually, we will see a gynecological oncologist in Sioux Falls for the mass on her ovary. The greatest concern is the mass in her hip muscle so that is being addressed first.

It's always hard to ask for help but the expenses pile up with extra trips for medical appointments and she will have some expensive bills to pay from her hospital stay. If you are able to contribute to help cover expenses, it would be greatly appreciated. There's a long road ahead and a lot of "unknowns" as we continue to look for answers for her health. The regular household bills don't go away during this time either.

Ruth has always been very family and friend oriented and she's one of those people who would do just about anything for another human or animal. This situation was not something that anyone saw coming; most health problems aren't.
