Give Hanan's family a chance
Donation protected
My name is Amal. Hanan has reached out to me to organise a fundraiser to help the young family leave Gaza to safety. Hanan is a mother of 3 children, the youngest was born a month into the war. Her maternal instinct is telling her to seek safety for her children. She explained that the money will go to her friends in Egypt (who recently left Gaza)who will help her with the procedure, paperwork, and pay the fees to the Egyptian authorities.
The cost of permit keeps changing, and it is anywhere between $5k to 10k per adult and $2k to $5k per child. Hanan commits that any extra donations not used for travel will be donated to MAP (Medical Aid For Palestinians).
Hanan's story in her own words:
"We need your help to leave Gaza and attempt to build a beautiful and normal life. The arrangements for leaving the Strip through the Rafah crossing cost at least $50,000 for my family. Currently, Rafah border is the only way out of Gaza. In difficult financial circumstances, we cannot secure this amount to escape from the death and danger. This campaign can help my family survive and give them real hope for a future that may hold better chances for them. We need your help to leave Gaza and live a safe life. Please donate and share my story to save my family. Thanks for your support, it means a lot to us, the difference between death and life.
My Children
My youngest son, who was born during the war, he is five months old, has not been registered in the civil registry, and does not have a birth certificate. We call him "Joud" and now lives in a small nylon tent, suffering from a lack of milk, diapers, clothes and other necessary needs.
This is my beautiful daughter, Layan, who is 7 years old. she is at the first year at school. Her dream is to become a doctor but now she is caring to fill water and finding food.
My oldest one, Mohammed, who is 9 years old. His dream is to become a famous football player, but unfortunately, he has not played football for several months. I hope that he can achieve his dream one day.
The photos on my phone from good old days, I only had Mohammed and Layan, they're bright, happy and caring children. Baby Joud arrived in the world during the war.
Our Circumstances
Our family has spent the last six months in a miserable situation. We are like every other family around the world that need a comfortable and safe life. Me, my husband (Taha), and my three children (Mohammed, Layan and Joud) lost our beautiful home due to bombings and were forced to displace multiple times, moving from the north to the south of Gaza.
Our house that we lived with love has become rubble. How cruel it is to see with your own eyes the storehouse of your memories completely destroyed. I was eight months pregnant and had to move south so I could give birth to my baby in a safe hospital. We sought refuge in at Khan Younes but even there, we faced evacuation warnings multiple times, putting our lives at risk.
After that, we were besieged, and then we were displaced again to the middle area in the Gaza Strip, which is Deir al-Balah. We live as a displaced with my family in a camp (a tent made from Nylon) because our house has become rubble. I don't have money to buy food, milk and clothes for my children. My husband and me have lost our jobs because of the war on Gaza and now we have no income resource. We do not give a look at our phone's gallery. Not even a single quick one. It hurts. Believe me, it really does! Specially the videos- so painful! They're full of life, laughter, and people who don't look like us. It's like another version-a much healthier, heavier, and happier one! We do not look at the food we used to make and eat. This will definitely bring tears to our eyes! It will take us a lifetime to forget what happened! We will need bigger hearts to accommodate all this harm!
We lost our house and all our belongings but then Allah brought Joud into this world. His big brother Mohammed and big sister Layan are all smiles thanks to baby Joud. We give Joud with extra love and cuddles to make it up for him for the harsh conditions we are living.
Please help me save my children and give them a chance of a safe life outside Gaza. We are forever grateful for your kindness, support and generosity."
