Sunflowers for Ukraine
Tax deductible
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The news out of Ukraine is devastating.
My husband Rodion and I were both born in Odessa, Ukraine. While we moved to America when we were young kids, we still have family and friends living in Ukraine. Over the last few weeks many of them have been violently forced to leave their homes to become refugees while some are still staying put in their homes praying this war will end.
This. Is. Heartbreaking.
Ukrainian civilians need our help NOW because they are the greatest victims of this entirely avoidable conflict. Many cities are now without heat, reliable electricity, or running water.
We care deeply about this, but more importantly, we want to build a community that can make a real difference. For this reason, we will be hosting a charity fundraiser on March 20th from 4-6 pm at Pinot's Palette in Logan Square, Chicago. Our event is called Sunflowers for Ukraine because the sunflower symbolizes peace along with the resilience and bravery of the Ukrainian people. Tickets to attend the event are $45 and can be bought here . There is also an on-demand painting option for those who want to paint but are unable to attend in person.
If you want to attend, but are unable to, please donate directly to our GoFundMe page. Purchase your ticket or make your donation today because with each passing day, the situation in Ukraine becomes more dire.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards supporting Ukrainian conflict survivors in partnership with the Footprint Project . We have chosen the Footprint Project because they are able to address one of the greatest needs that Ukrainian refugees now face - access to reliable heat, water, and energy. We want to empower first responders and refugees to illuminate and warm their shelters, call their loved ones with their phones and communicate using the internet - all through renewable energy sources.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Katherine and Rodion
