Phillips road to recovery-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
Donation protected
Hodgkin’s lymphoma is not common in children Phillip’s age, yet that is what he is facing. on Saturday 1/5/19 our 9.5 year old son was hospitalized. We have since then been in the hospital. Our son has had two biopsies, his lung collapsed and after all of this the only thing we know is that he has lymphoma. Treatments cant start until we know which type of lymphoma. My husband and I have both missed work, unpaid time unfortunately and that's why we are turning to GFM. We need help with our bills until we get through this disaster. we appreciate any support you can offer. Thank you
Phillips road to recovery hasn’t been an easy one. He endured 4 biopsies, both lungs collapsing, chest tubes on both sides. Phillip has handled 5 rounds of heavy chemo therapy treatments, with multiple side effects, nausea, vomiting, neuropathy, bone pain, depression. He powered through 14 radiation treatments where he endured radiation to the mediastinum and his neck, he’s also had side effects with his radiation including difficulty breathing and pain in the neck even while swallowing. Our entire family has been affected by this diagnosis. Dealing with cancer and a child is devastating and life altering . This is and has been the most traumatic thing we have ever dealt with. My wife has been out of work since January 2nd and will return to work once we get told our son is in remission (hopefully end of August). There is a significant financial burden placed on families in this position, we have maxed out every credit card to keep food on the table and gas in the cars, and keep providing the basic necessities needed. Anything helps and everything is appreciated. Thank you
